Well, here I am. The last hours of such liberty. The last hours of being a child…
Ina few hours I will be officially translated into being an adult, having to take responsibility for life in an adult manner. Of course I haven’t just arrived. I’ve been growing into it. But in growing into it, I have arrived.
This is my 18th birthday. Today I am no longer 17. I am 18. A day to remember. A day to record. Camera at the ready. First photo – a selfie: me facing the day, getting out of bed, hair tangled, eyes bleary as I open the curtains to a sun-filled morning, with blue skies and a flock of pigeons swooping.
